Facebook or Blog?

Due to all but one or two of my family members converting to Facebook (Aunt Alene, it really might just be you at this point,) I won't be updating my blog as often. My Grandparents, Husband, Mom and Sister were the final ones to join. If they can see things on there where it is viewed slightly more under my terms than my blog, than that is where most updates and pics of the kiddos will go. I'll try to check in on here every so often. I am looking for a link I once had to turn your blog into a scrapbook. I started the process once, but didn't finish. I think it is a great idea to print and bind what has been going on for the last 2.5 years. So.....if you don't have FB and you want pic updates just let me know. In he meantime, you can find all the "exciting" Wilkens action on Facebook. :) Have a great night!

Girls' Last Day of Gymnastics and Dance

Kailey and Gianna have been taking gymnastics for a year and dance for about 6 months. They both LOVE it. Saturday was our last day of class for a while. School starts in just two weeks, and I just don't know if time is going to allow for us to do it all. We have a studio opening closer to our house, so even when we do go back it won't be at the wonderful gym we've been attending all year. The last day of class they had a mini-recital and open gym to show all their family and friends what they've been working on. They both did a fantastic job, here are a few, not so great pics of the day. Gianna was sleeping before we left so I didn't get a good picture of her.

Camping in Flagstaff

We knew the temperatures in Phoenix were going to be over 110 this past weekend, so Nate got a crazy idea to pack up and go camping. We had never done this with our kids, so I had no idea what to expect. We found a site in Flagstaff right outside of town, and it was perfect. It stormed for about an hour or two when we first arrived, but being forced to be in a tent with nothing to do but color, talk and read was actually pretty fun. The girls thought it was amazing to hear the rain pouring on our tent and the thunder roaring overhead. The next morning we drove to very small town called Mormon Lake, no lake, but a cute restaurant and pony rides for the kids. It was a great mini staycation, and we all can't wait to do it again!
Assembling our grill in the tent while it rained outside.Relaxing while we make dinner A strange fort we found on our hike.
